Real-Life Situations That Is

Sliced Up
Wham Wham
Now who else wants to mess with the Player Pick Em Pool?

"One moment, you frequent the booty clubs, and the next four years, you and somebody's daughter raisin' y'all own young'n.

Now, that's a beautiful thang.

That's if you're on top of your game and man enough to handle real-life situations, that is."

Many a Day Has Passed, The Night Has Gone By

Just like Outkast, I ran into real-life situations this week that needed to be handled. Unlike Outkast, it had nothing to do with raising a daughter or potentially failing a drug test for the USPS. But that whole time I thought about the Player Pick Em Pool. With things handled like a man, the updates have now risen from the ashes during a week popular for that sort of thing.

Cooler Than a Polar Bear's Toenails

Going into the Sweet 16, we had a tie for first place between Tony Bennett 4 Life and former champion biake. Both teams had a robust 537 going leaving the opening weekend. Since we're talking about ties,  I neglected to put our tie-breaker on the form. When we get to championship night, I'll send out a tie-breaker guess for those in contention as we use the total points scored from the championship game. Closest gets it. Unless you want to have a foot race on a NASCAR track. Up to you all.

Better Late than Never was a mere 8 points behind them. Trailing the leaders but a measly 11 points was The Man, The Myth, The Legend, William Bosta.

Our 2nd round points leader was Dorsey's First Round Exit, who dropped 214 points on our heads, gaining 26 spots in the rankings. That entry narrowly edged out long-time Pick Em participant Dylan Ninos, who had 210 points and jumped up 24 spots. I still need to do some accounting, but DFRE has won back their entry fee.

Find a way to get in, to fit in, to get on

I'll be honest, I have no idea how to capitalize the above heading. Somewhere my 3rd grade teacher Mrs. Okefore is upset with me.

Clemson found a way to get in to the Elite Eight and shut down Caleb Love and the Wildcats. Nineteen entries are now all out of Love. (Is it just me, or was there more sweating in old music videos?) We have seven entries with Clemson, though Girard III only chipped in 4 points this round for my guy poop-dreams, who is the only one who selected him. Did I want to simply highlight that entry name? Yes. I'm not a journalist, so there's no integrity required here.

Alabama came through against a tough UNC team to show that they fit in. Fifteen entries were hollerin' roll tide last night as Mark Sears netted 18 points and Aaron Estrada contributed 19 points. With 58 total points, RJ Davis is the current points leader for the number 1 seeds, but he'll be surpassed tonight by Zach Edey. Only nine entries had a UNC player.

I-L-L-I-N-O-I-S found a way to get on with a victory over Iowa State. Terrance Shannon Jr. currently leads our tourney in points with 83, making eighteen entrants happy. Only six entrants had selected Iowa State players. This matchup finally settled the question you've all been asking yourselves... Who has the best soil between Iowa and Illinois? Illini all day. (If you know anything about soil rankings and you know someone from Iowa, you also know how hot of a take that is.)

UConn handled SDSU fairly easily and the ten entrants with UConn. I'm so unenthusiastic about this one that they don't even get an OutKast reference. They're just moving up in the world like elevators. Jaedon Ledee left with 18 more points, leaving fifteen entrants with 76 overall points. The second closest 5 seed player is Gonzaga's Anton Watson with 34 points. That's Player Pick Em MVP stuff right there.

 Horoscopes Often Lie

Sitting in first place is the aforementioned William Bosta. Our terrible projections model projects him to finish 5th overall. WB still has a pick from Purdue, Illinois, Duke, and Clemson left. He could be in the catbird's seat with Duke and Purdue victories tonight.

In second and currently projected to finish first is biake. He has Purdue, Tennessee, Illinois, and Alabama left. JWclem2 is in third, but only has Alabama and Illinois left.

Outside of the top 3, Dorsey's First Round Exit still has Tennessee, Illinois, Alabama, Gonzaga, Clemson, and NC State. Watch out. NIT Hoosiers in currently in 7th, but has Purdue, Tennessee, Illinois, Duke, and Clemson.

poop-dreams is in 4th place. It just had to be noted.
